ব্রাম্মণবাড়িয়া তে জন্মগ্রহণ করে ১৯৬৬ তে মেট্রিক ১৯৬৮ সনে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ‍্যালয়ে বায়োকেমিস্ট্রিতে ভর্তি হোন। বিশ্ববিদ‍্যালয় পাস করার পরে ১৯৭৫ সনে ঢাকা বিশ্ববিদ‍্যালয়ে শিক্ষক হিসাবে যোগদান করেন। জাপানের কিউতো’তে উচ্চশিক্ষার জন‍্য চলে যান। তারপরে পোস্টডক হিসাবে আমেরিকাতে যান। তাঁর গবেষণার বিস্তারিত শুনুন সাক্ষাৎকারে।
