তিনি বর্তমানে স্ট্যামফার্ড বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাংলাদেশ-এর সিএসই বিভাগের সিনিয়র লেকচারার হিসেবে কর্মরত আছেন। একাডেমিয়া এবং মেশিন লার্নিং রিসার্চে গত পাঁচ বছর ধরে কাজ করার দরুন ২০২২ সালে চায়নার ইন্টারন্যাশনাল কনফারেন্স অন কমিউনিকেশনস, কম্পিউটিং, সাইবার সিকিউরিটি এন্ড ইনফোরমেটিক্স কনফারেন্সে “বেস্ট পেপার অ্যাওয়ার্ড” পেয়েছেন। তারপরের বছর আর্টিফিশিয়াল ইন্টেনিজেন্স রিসার্চে অবদানের জন্য ফোর্থ ইন্ড্রাস্ট্রিয়াল রিভোলিউশন স্কিলস সামিট ২০২৩ আয়োজিত প্রোগ্রামে “ফোরআইআর স্কিলস অ্যাওয়ার্ড” পেয়েছেন।

তাঁর গবেষণার বিষয় কি?

গবেষণার শুরু থেকে তিনি বাংলাদেশ নিয়ে কাজ করতে চেয়েছেন। বাংলাদেশের মানুষ, বাংলাদেশের ডাটা। বাংলাদেশী ধানের রোগ নির্ণয় থেকে বাংলাদেশের ক্রিকেটারদের ফেসবুক প্রোফাইল থেকে সেন্টিমেণ্টাল অ্যানালাইসিস করতে মেশিন লার্নিং এবং ডিপ লার্নিং ব্যবহার করেছেন।

বাংলাদেশের তরুণ শিক্ষার্থী যারা বিজ্ঞানে কাজ করতে চায় – তাঁদের জন্য তাঁর কোন ম্যাসেজ কিংবা বার্তা কি?

ছোটবেলা থেকে ম্যাথমেটিক্সের মৌলিক ধারণা তৈরী করতে হবে। নতুন নতুন জ্ঞান আহরণ করতে হবে। কাটিং এজ টেকনোলজির সাথে নিজেকে খাপ খাইয়ে নিতে হবে। সমমনা মানুষের সাথে নেটওয়ার্ক তৈরী করতে হবে। অগ্রজ একজন মেন্টর খুঁজে বের করতে হবে।

First of all, we want to know about her.

She is presently serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Stamford University Bangladesh. Over the past five years, her dedication to academia and research in machine learning has earned her notable recognition. In 2022, she received the “Best Paper Award” at the China International Conference on Communications, Computing, Cybersecurity, and Informatics. The following year, in 2023, she was honored with the “4IR Skills Award” at the Fourth Industrial Revolution Skills Summit for her significant contributions to Artificial Intelligence research.

What is the subject of her research?

From the outset of her research journey, she was determined to focus on Bangladesh—its people and its data. She has applied machine learning and deep learning techniques to a range of local issues, including performing sentiment analysis on the Facebook profiles of Bangladeshi cricketers and diagnosing diseases in Bangladeshi rice.

What is her message for young students in Bangladesh who want to work in science?

It’s important to build a strong foundation in mathematics from an early age. Continuously seeking new knowledge is essential. Staying updated with the latest technologies is also crucial. You should surround yourself with a network of like-minded individuals, and seek guidance from a more experienced mentor.
