উত্তর: আমার গবেষণার বিষয়টি বেশ বৈচিত্র্যময়। এর মধ্যে রয়েছে এক্সপ্লেইনেবল কৃত্রিম বুদ্ধিমত্তা, মেশিন লার্নিং, সোশ্যাল কম্পিউটিং, কন্ট্রোল সিস্টেমস এবং প্রাইভেসি-প্রিজার্ভিং ডিপ লার্নিং।

উত্তর: বর্তমানে আমি ডিফিউশন মডেলিং ব্যবহার করে বিহেভিয়ারাল বায়োমেট্রিক ডাটা—যেমন ভয়েস প্যাটার্ন, কিস্ট্রোক ডায়নামিক্স, গেইট প্যাটার্ন—এসব বিষয়ের প্রাইভেসি-ইউটিলিটি ট্রেড-অফ নিয়ে কাজ করছি। এর লক্ষ্য হলো সিনথেটিক বিহেভিয়ারাল বায়োমেট্রিক সিগনেচার তৈরি করে অথেনটিকেশন সিস্টেমে ব্যবহারযোগ্যতা বজায় রাখা, কিন্তু রিআইডেন্টিফিকেশন প্রতিরোধ করা। এতে ডাটা কম্প্রোমাইজ হলেও ব্যবহারকারীর ব্যক্তিগত তথ্য পুনঃব্যবহার করে ক্ষতি করার সুযোগ কমে যাবে।

Md. Samiur Rahman completed his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from North South University, Bangladesh, with a major in Artificial Intelligence and a minor in Mathematics. He later earned an MBA in Management, with a minor in Marketing, from the same institution. Alongside his higher studies, he engaged in teaching and research in multiple academic institutions. He began as a Lab Instructor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University, followed by lecturer positions at Presidency University and the Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT).

He has worked across diverse academic roles, teaching courses in computer programming, digital logic design, operating systems, artificial intelligence, blockchain systems, engineering mathematics, and more. Alongside teaching, he contributed to accreditation activities, curriculum development, and departmental coordination.

Currently, he is pursuing higher studies at the Illinois Institute of Technology, USA. His research interests include Explainable AI, Machine Learning, Privacy-Preserving Deep Learning, Control Systems, and Social Computing. Question: To begin, we would like to know a bit about you.
Answer: I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering (Math minor, AI major) from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University in April 2020. I completed my MBA (Marketing minor, Management major) at the same institution in December 2022. In May 2021, I joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at North South University as a Lab Instructor. Before that, I worked for three months as a Management Trainee Officer at CXpress Ltd. and Capital Logistics from January to March 2021.

During my MBA, I joined the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Presidency University as a Lecturer in May 2021, and I worked at both places simultaneously. After teaching at Presidency University until June 2024, I joined BUBT in July 2024 as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. I worked there until 26 December 2024. Finally, on 31 December, I traveled to the United States to pursue higher studies. That is my journey in brief.

Question: What is the focus of your research?
Answer: My research interests are diverse. They include Explainable Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Social Computing, Control Systems, and Privacy-Preserving Deep Learning.

Question: How does your research benefit people now or in the future?
Answer: My current research focuses on the privacy-utility trade-off of behavioral biometric data—such as voice patterns, keystroke dynamics, and gait patterns—using diffusion modeling. The aim is to generate synthetic behavioral biometric signatures that maintain authentication performance while preventing re-identification. This ensures that even if stored data is compromised, the attacker cannot misuse personal biometric patterns to exploit the system.

Question: Do you have any message for young students in Bangladesh who want to pursue science or research?
Answer: I would encourage students interested in research to start reading research papers and conference articles regularly. This helps them understand current research trends and become comfortable with complex topics. They should also explore courses on platforms like Coursera, edX, and DataCamp to expand their knowledge. Many of these platforms offer free enrollments and scholarships for certifications.
